VELOCITY ++ SPEEDSUIT

The XTERRA WETSUITS line-up is complete with our collection of speedsuits for triathlons and open water swimming. When a wetsuit is not legal, a speedsuit is your best option for speed in the water. Without a speedsuit, you are forced to swim with your tri gear or bathing suit, which creates drag and slows you down.

The Velocity++ offers full coverage from neck to ankles and is not a neoprene wetsuit, but a slick, non-permeable, extremely durable suit comprised of the fastest material and coating available on the market. The NANO-SCS coating, with a drag coefficient of 0.02 (the lowest available), is used continuously throughout the speedsuit. The Velocity++ has a seamless front, contains no Lycra and is meant to fit snugly - especially at the chest, waist and hips - over tri gear. It takes about five minutes to put on and requires assistance zipping up. However, it will take less than five seconds to peel off with the easy exit flip-up zipper.

Our current Velocity speedsuit line is legal in all USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned races, regardless of water temperature. Velocities are also legal in World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) sanctioned events (including Ironman and Ironman 70.3) that permit wetsuits. Effective September 1, 2010, our current Velocity speedsuit line will not be legal in WTC sanctioned events (including Ironman and Ironman 70.3) with water temperatures over 76 degrees. For all other races, we encourage you to contact the race directly for all speedsuit and wetsuit regulations. Please click here for complete WTC rule changes.

    The Velocity++ is my first speed suit and my first body suit of any kind. I rented a mid-range wet suit for a Fall race in a Northern Minnesota lake last Fall, 2009. My half mile time was one minute twenty-three seconds faster at 11:56 and it was an awful swim. My training this January-February has repeats of 200 yards timed at 2:40. With the Vel. ++ it dropped to 2:20. I could feel a noticeable difference in my first kick off the wall. I have a Vendetta on back order and can't wait to swim in it. I am almost 59 years old so with the Xterra advantage I expect to win my age groups again this year.
