Charlotte McShane
Australia
Age: 19
- 3rd Shepparton 70.3 (First Out) - 2009
At age 18, 2009 marked Charlotte’s first year as a professional triathlete. The Australian capped her stellar year with a third place pro finish – and first out of the water in her XTERRA Velocity 0.02 speedsuit – at the Shepparton Half Ironman in Victoria Australia. She earned numerous first place elite wins throughout the season and was selected for the Australian Elite Team for the World Long Distance Championships. Charlotte competed in her first triathlon at age 7 in Scotland and continued to compete in junior triathlons when in 2002 she was ranked second in Britain for the 12-13 age group.
It has been a goal of Charlotte’s to win the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii since she watched her father compete in the race in 2001. Already making a name for herself in Half Ironman distance races, she is well on her way to Kona! Charlotte has been with XTERRA WETSUITS since 2009.
