Renata grew up playing in the mountains of Littau, Switzerland and her career as a professional athlete began on the Swiss National Handball Team. Eventually, her competitive nature and love of the outdoors lead her to the world of XTERRA racing, where she has dominated the European Tour since entering the sport in 2004. Renata has nearly 20 XTERRA wins. Earning her degree in Sports Management/Teaching, she uses her education to aid with training and racing goals. While she's not spending more than 220 days a year competing in races all over the world, Renata teaches primary school physical education classes.
