      Excellent wetsuit

Its a great, comfortable but snug fit like a wetsuit should be. I am 5’3 & 120 lbs fit and athletic build. I purchased the medium size. Minimal amount of water if any comes in due to the design. Its super soft and comfy. It was a windy and cold day and the only body parts that could feel wind and cold water was those that were exposed outside of wetsuit! The only negative was a snug feeling on the front side of the neck area but I think if I can pull the wetsuit up more from the back it will alleviate that. It only happened while sitting though. I think that is operator error though! Lol Overall Im glad the other suit I ordered never came so I could research some more and find an even better one. Excellently made wetsuit.

      Love it ... but

I'm new to swimming in a wetsuit. I'm a 74 yr old who is by no means an expert swimmer; for the last couple of years I've been cold water plunging in the winter ,,, but have been frustrated that I haven't been able to stay in the water for more than ten minutes (live in New England) and have not been able to swim --- just bob around. I bought this suit to remedy that. The temps here have not yet reached winter chill. But I took a dip in this suit last week when the water was 55F. Came out of it without any chill at all. I will say though, that swimming in a wetsuit is going to take some getting used to. I stopped in my swim to tread water and found my legs floating to the surface. Weird sensation. However, the flexibility in the arms was great and I did not feel constrained at all during my brief swim. There was one other strange thing that I noticed: As I was walking out into the water, my butt started to fill up with ocean --- not a lot, just enough to be noticeable. I couldn't understand that because I hadn't yet gotten my neck in in the water. Only thing I could figure was that there might be a leak at the zipper. I haven't found any yet but will keep looking. Some say that swimming in a wetsuit is easier, but I found it harder. I think, as I said before, that I need to get used to the buoyancy --- how it's distributed around my body. I did find it hard to get in and out of the suit. It's really tight around the wrists and ankles. I'm going to try some lube for my next swim --- see how that works. All in all though, I love the suit. It was a good price (seems to be even less now... maybe I should have waited) and seems to be really strong at the seams. Looking forward to some real swims this winter

      Second fit was better

I swapped my small in for a medium and the fit was perfect without bunching. I tried it in 64° water and it was warm and the buoyancy was great. I have never swam in a wetsuit so this was a cool experience. When I get back from Baja, I will give it another try in the lake where I swim. I am predicting that this suit will be great once the water temps drop. Looking forward!

Vortex Sleeveless. So Far, So Good!

I have been swimming in the Vortex Sleeved wetsuit for many years now and it has been great. When my long-time QR sleeveless suit finally experienced a "fatal" rip, I needed to replace it. Because of my good fortune with my sleeved suit, I ordered the Vortex sleeveless suit. My long sleeved Vortex is a SLO (small long)...I am roughly 6' tall and weigh around 145 lbs. This size has served me well. A couple of years ago I ordered the Vortex sleeveless (SLO), in anticipation of my QR wetsuit coming to an end. I found the size to be a little small and returned it. This time I ordered the "medium" and so far so good. It's tough to be between sizes, but I think I made the right choice. *Disclaimer: So...I have not done a workout in my new wetsuit yet, but I did go in our lake and swim around a bit and it felt good. Because of the success of my other Vortex suit, I feel confident that it will be a worthy purchase. I hope you find what you are looking for. I know Xterra is a good way to go, so if you are on the fence, give it a try.
