This "training wetsuit" offers race-level buoyancy and a natural range of motion at every training session, which over time improves technique and pacing while building muscle memory. Proper body position increases stroke efficiency and adjusts for the proper catch-phase for racing. Dynamic design makes LAVA Pants comfortable to train in and easy to change into and out of.
The waistband is low-cut, allowing for natural breathing and comfortable flip turns. United StatesMy knees and feet get cold. Swimming in S.F. Bay, I’ve tried wetsuits and vests and really prefer the lava pants. They keep my legs warm without restricting my upper body- no chafing on my arms and neck. I don’t use them all the time, but they really help after a couple weeks out of the water. Great purchase for me!
United StatesThe buoyancy that these provide is great for enforcing good body position and it is certainly a nice psychological boost to have a notable chunk of time (artificially) taken off of lap splits. Also, good pool prep for wetsuit legal open water swims without overheating in a full wetsuit.
United StatesI am new to triathlons so I picked up a wetsuit before I knew they should not be used in a pool for training. I picked up lava pants to train in the pool and they have dramatically improved my swimming form (I am a leg sinker). I have also recently learned that swimming in a wetsuit is very different that swimming in regular swim suits. The lava pants help to simulate wetsuit swimming while training without exposing my actual wetsuit to chlorine.
