This "training wetsuit" offers race-level buoyancy and a natural range of motion at every training session, which over time improves technique and pacing while building muscle memory. United States United StatesI am 5’9 and 139 lbs. started out with a Large! Had to change this to a Medium ( now I think Small would have been fine). The shorts are fairly thick and definitely help lifting the hip and improving swim position. My times are faster using these shorts. I hope it will eventually translate to a better position without these shorts.
I’m a big boned individual and quite thin and didn’t have enough floatation to keep my legs from sinking.. The Lava Pants were a great solution..
United StatesSo after about a 10-year hiatus from swimming, my form was/is terribly off. The Lava Shorts are helping a great deal because I can focus on the upper body mechanics and breathing. I'm not a natural floater and my body density just sinks, especially the backside. I'm using them as a training aid currently and possibly even for race day if the temps are right. I would highly recommend this product to help in your training. Plus, it's by far the best price available for a comparable product. Just buy them... no excuses. You'll be glad you did. Rick S
