    First Wetsuit Ever

I've been training for my very first triathlon and was very scared for my swim training as I don't know how to swim very well. I live in San Antonio, TX and even though it's hot more days than cold, it still seemed useful to buy a wetsuit and I definitely don't regret it. Being 4'9" I'm usually on the smaller side of everything so was afraid it was going to be too big. However the chart works very accurately and a Small was just right. The legs and arms fit almost exact. I'm guessing someone taller might have their ankles showing a bit more but for me I appreciate the extra length. Works incredible in the water and would definitely not survive the open swim without it! But the water has been so cold lately that I recommend getting wet socks as well since my poor feet were freezing. Flexibility is amazing. And even for a beginner like me I feel very buoyant in the water. My only complaint would be that as soon as I tried it on the first time without even going in the water yet there was already a tear starting to appear. Thankfully it comes with a glue package and was able to fix quickly. However for the first time I didn't expect it to tear that quickly which just shows how delicate and careful you need to be.

    Great First Swim!

First time wearing a wetsuit for an open water swim and it was great! I had a number of people recommend Xterra to me and I will be recommending them to others.

I am outside of the size chart and it fits!

I am a 5'10" squishy 255lb female and was looking for a suit for norCal open water swimming. This works! It is too long and I will need to trim the arms and legs but that is easy enough. I even received some wetsuit "glue" to tack down the stitching after alterations. I bought an outlet suit and I am not disappointed. I had very low expectations regarding customer service (reddit, amazon, etc.) and purchased with that understanding. I have no experience with their customer service good or bad.

    Comfortable suit, great fit

After using an older 2-piece full wet suit for years when I lived up north, coming down to Texas a number of years ago I decided I finally should invest in a sleeveless. I always found my old full suit to be constricting to breathe in and limiting in my stroke arm movement. Enter the Vortex sleeveless. I recently completed my first Olympic in the Vortex in really choppy lake waters. I found the Vortex to be really comfortable with no chafe, providing all the buoyancy benefits you look for especially in rougher waters, with the added benefit of full arm movement. The water temp was only a few degrees below the wetsuit cutoff temp so I can't give a fair assessment of the insulating properties, but there seemed to be little water seepage into the suit body and the wetsuit is plenty thick. It was quite form fitting without feeling restrictive. Removal was also a breeze, another benefit of a sleeveless suit. Overall, I'd expect this wetsuit to work well, even in colder temps. From a fit standpoint, I have broad shoulders which is another benefit of the sleeveless. My race weight was about 195 lbs (5'10") and the Large (L) fit comfortably. I was about 10 pounds heavier when I received it and was barely able to get it on. Target weight is to lose another 10 pounds and there is plenty of stretch both ways so that will not be an issue. Build quality is excellent, highly recommend this suit.
